This 2 day workshop is a continuation of WS117. The students will learn the technique of cutting gears and pinions using a micro mill. Some of the topics covered will include:
Basic calculations of wheel and pinion cutting
Machining a wheel blank and arbor
Milling machine setup
Use of the rotary table
Making and hardening cutting tools
This workshop is open to all but the participants must be familiar with the micro lathe. All materials, supplies and machines will be provided.
The workshop will be held at the NAWCC School of Horology on Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 8:00 and 4:30. This includes two 15 minute breaks and 1 hour for lunch.
1. Lodging: If you will be staying in the area overnight during the course of the workshop, a local list of lodgings will be provided with your confirmation letter for you to review.
