Update your skill set with this two day intensive class on case restoration. During the class you will learn all about appropriate finishes for antique pieces, including how to mix and tint shellac flakes, use hide glue, make veneer and marquetry repairs, reamalgamate finishes, make circular cuts in glass, cold cast molds, and repair damaged areas. In depth discussions will include historical perspectives, stains, top coats, glues, tools, and detecting fraudulent pieces.
All materials needed for the workshop will be supplied, but participants may bring their own cases. Please note that you will not complete a restoration of a case during the workshop period.
Both beginners and advanced students are welcome to attend this workshop that will be held at the NAWCC School of Horology on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This includes two 15-minute breaks and 1 hour for lunch
