Next BHS Zoom Lunch Scheduled for January 14th, 2021 12 noon Mountain Time

Season's Greetings from the Boulder Horological Society! A bit late but there are a few days left...

I have scheduled the next Zoom lunch for the second Thursday of January (14th) at noon, our traditional meeting time. Because of the flexibility of virtual meetings, different times/days/frequencies are real options and I would like your suggestions and feedback. The Zoom invitation is at the end of this message.

The theme for this session is Japanese Horology - Seiko, Citizen, Casio and others but primarily Seiko.

Most of us wrist watch collectors have/have had a few Seikos in the collection. My first watch was a value priced Seiko mechanical in the mid 60's with a blue dial. I think it suffered a wet and rusty end as I probably wore it in the pool and the ocean. Anyway I will present my Seiko marine chronometer collection and let others show their watches.

We would also like to know if you have a favorite website, reference, or specialist. Also dominant on the scene is Citizen which was an important supplier to Bulova and eventually bought and still owns the brand. Casio is a contemporary favorite with their G-Shock line but they were early in the market with environmental sensors such as temperature and barometric pressure. I went through a couple of their watches with altimeters in the late 80's.

Anyway I have scheduled the meeting to start at 11:30am but will start recording and presenting at 12 noon. That way we have time to get oriented and such. I hope to not have to edit the recording afterwards as I have found that to be very time intensive. That is why I have been slow to upload some of our past recordings.

Screen sharing by all participants will be enabled and we can use the first 30 minutes to practice and resolve issues. Feel free to login at any time.

Also, if you have headphones with a microphone I would suggest using it as your voice quality will be much better and the background noise will be greatly reduced. I will send another message when I get additional recordings uploaded. If you have questions, suggestions or comments email me at:

Best wishes, Tim Schulz Secretary/Treasurer Boulder Horological Society NAWCC Chapter 160
