Black Forest Wood Movement Clocks WS-505

Black Forest Wood Movement Clocks WS-505
The Black Forest wood movement clock is unique in construction and the repair problems it presents. In this two day class we will introduce the student to this interesting and collectable clock. From simple disassembly and reassembly to more complex issues such as bushing and escapement repairs, we will explore these movements and learn to make appropriate repairs.

Upon completing the course the student should be able to:

  • Disassemble and reassemble the movement
  • Stabilize the movement frame
  • Polish and repair pivots
  • Replace worn bushings with a variety of techniques
  • Synchronize the strike train
  • Understand and repair the escapement

The student must bring a suitable Black Forest movement in reasonably clean and rust free condition.
