Watch Crystals: Ordering and Installing WS-202

This workshop will introduce you to the different types of watch crystals used in wrist and pocket watches. The course is ideal for professional candidates that want to learn how to properly select and install glass and plastic crystals. In addition, to the clock professionals that want to further their skills; this course will benefit the hobbyist, who is interested in going to the next level.

Each participant will increase their knowledge on:

  • Identifying crystal types;
  • Measuring and ordering crystals; and
  • Properly installation of different types of crystals

Watch Crystal ordering and installing course objectives are as follows:

  • Selecting the proper crystal for the watch;
  • Measuring the case for proper fit of crystal;
  • Using different adhesives for installation;
  • Overview of the tools needed and their use to install different crystals;

Required tools for workshop:

  • Selection of eye loupes 10x, 4x
  • Digital or dial calipers to measure inside diameters
  • Jewelers screwdrivers
  • Brass or bronze tweezers
  • Dust blower
  • Peg wood
  • Rodico
