Wheel and Pinion Cutting on the Micro Mill WS-119
The students will learn the technique of cutting gears and pinions using a micro mill. Machining procedures covered in this course are the same as used by manufacturers to manufacture watch and clock parts.

Some of the topics covered will include:

  • Basic calculations of wheel and pinion cutting
  • Machining a wheel blank and arbor
  • Milling machine setup
  • Use of the rotary table
  • Making and hardening cutting tools
  • Wheel cutting Pinion cutting 

This workshop is open to all but the participants must be familiar with the micro lathe. All materials, supplies and machines will be provided.
