Welcome to Chicagoland Chapter #3 of NAWCC

Welcome to the web site of the Chicagoland Chapter of the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors, Inc., a nonprofit and scientific corporation founded in 1943 and now serving the horological interests of more than 30,000 members around the world.

A National Convention and Mart is held every year in a different part of the country, sponsored by local chapters and drawing several thousand members. The NAWCC is headquartered in Columbia, Pa.

The Chicagoland Chapter has been in existence since 1947, initially known as the Midwest Region Chapter. It is a non-profit organization of individuals located in many states with a common interest in all aspects of horology: timepieces, history, repair, and how horology has affected culture. The National Convention has been held in Chicago several times, the last being 1992. And the Chicagoland Chapter was one of the first chapters to sponsor "Field Suitcase Workshops" in 1994 and 1995.

What We Do

The Chicagoland Chapter is dedicated to the support of the beginner hobbyist and professional alike. The Chapter hosts quarterly meetings [details below]. A typical meeting will consist of a mart, a general club update and then a formal presentation.

Chicago by Night
Chicago is a world-class city and is a meeting point for many horology enthusiasts. Most major airlines serve our two major airports and with the central location of the city, it is an easy interstate drive from most of the midwest to our city.

The Chapter has one holiday social gathering in December of each year. All members are welcome to join in the festivities.

The mart is a chance for our members to buy and sell general horological items such as ephemera, tools, parts and complete watches and/or clocks. Many of our members will bring in their collections to put on display during the mart. The general club meeting is a brief update on club activities and announcements. And finally, our presentations run the spectrum from "Ask the Clock Doc" to "The Internet and Horology: How to locate, value and dispose of your item." As our website progresses, we will upload these presentations so that you can view them after the event.
